WAC Honors Rebels’ Froelich

UNLV's Linda Froehlich was named the Western Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week for the Mountain Division Monday. It is the first time a UNLV player has ever earned the award.
Froehlich a 6-2 freshman guard/forward from Oldendorf, Germany, led UNLV to a 2-0 mark last week and was named tournament MVP at the Golden Gopher Classic.
She averaged 31.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, shot .558 (24-of-43) from the field, 1-of-3 (.333) from three-point range and .667 (14-of-21) from the free throw line. She also added three assists and nine steals.
