Painting the West
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 | 2:16 a.m.
Experience a close encounter of the cowboy kind when internationally known western artist Donald "Putt" Putman opens his first Las Vegas Art Exhibit at Art Encounter. The famous painter will be creating original art works depicting scenes of women of the West using live models, Dec. 5-9, from 2-6 p.m. daily except Sunday.
Putman's works are renowned for their realism and authentic representations of what the early West was really like. Featured in prominent art journals and periodicals such as Art of the West, U.S. Art and Southwest Art, his works are widely held in both individual and corporate collections.
"I enjoy working with live models and I think the public will enjoy watching me work," said Putman. "My live art exhibits are always fun for me, as well as informative for those observing."
Nevada's largest fine art gallery, Art Encounter was voted "Best Art Gallery in Las Vegas" in the 1997 Las Vegas Review Journal reader's poll. The gallery features hundreds of originals and fine art prints from over 100 local, national and international artists.
Add a little color to your life. Stop by to see Putman and experience his paintings first hand. It's an encounter well worth the trip. Art Encounter is located at 3979 Spring Mountain Road. Call 227-0220 for more information.
