Flossie L. Alewine, 83, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 16, 1915, in Whitefield, Okla. A resident for five months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Jarrett of Henderson; one son, Ernest Lee Alewine of Russellville, Ark.; one sister, Dossie Dilly of Stigler, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lyle F. Balchuck
Lyle F. Balchuck, 68, of Pahrump died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Chicago. A resident of Las Vegas for 10 years and most recently a resident of Pahrump for five years, he was a retired automotive sales engineer and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Alice Irene Bartlett
Alice Irene Bartlett, 73, of Las Vegas died Nov. 22 in a local hospital. She was born March 22, 1925, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; three sons, Frank Albert Bartlett of Lincoln, Neb., and Bob Dean Bartlett and Gary Lee Bartlett, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Warren Clark of Coraopolis, Pa.
Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling private arrangements.
Edna Benson
Edna Benson, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born June 4, 1928, in Perrysburg, Ohio. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for a manufacturing company and a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas Heuer of Henderson, Donald Heuer of Nampa, Idaho, and Dale Heuer of Las Vegas; two sisters, Margaret Zollars of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Dorothy Mann of Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Robert Kievel of Dayton, Ohio, and Mahlon Kievel of Maumee, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Sara Bonarrigo
Sara Bonarrigo, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born March 4, 1927, in Lawrence, Mass. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired food and beverage hostess.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Striano of Las Vegas and Carol Newmark of Sayreville, N.J.; one sister, Mary Walt of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones.
Joyce A. Cummock
Joyce A. Cummock, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born March 12, 1934, in Salt Lake City. A resident for nine years, she was a Realtor.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; five sons, Mike Cummock of Las Vegas, Mark Cummock of Atlanta, Brad Cummock of Little Rock, Ark., Bret Cummock of Salt Lake City and Scot Cummock of Houston; one daughter, Shauna Stelse of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Pat Cassity, and one sister, Kathleen Nelson, both of Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the LDS Fort Apache Ward. Burial will be in Salt Lake City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Phillip N. Demetrakis
Phillip N. Demetrakis, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Gary, Ind. A resident for 4 1/2 years, he was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two daughters, Mary Kasarda-Espinoza of Henderson and Katherine Kasarda-McMahan of Porter, Ind.; one brother, Dennis Demetrakis of Crown Point, Ind.; one sister, Nicki Ann Copeland of Lafayette, La.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Anna Marie Felton
Anna Marie Felton, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Osseo, Wis. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest L.; two daughters, Lynne A. Campos of LaVerkin, Utah, and Susan G. Nelson of St. George, Utah; one son, Steven C. Felton of Las Vegas; one brother, Milan O. Berg of New Richmond, Wis.; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in the Relief Society Room of the LDS Lindell El Camino Ward. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Sam Ficek
Sam Ficek, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 10, 1913, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired mechanic in the canning industry, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie; two daughters, Patricia Roszyk of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Joanne Ficek of Las Vegas; one son, Steve Ficek of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rose Hodur of Las Vegas and Sophie Madrick of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Frank Ficek of McHenry, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.
Nancy Gandy
Nancy Gandy, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Ousley County, Ky. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired real estate agent for Lakes Realty.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Gandy and Christopher Gandy, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Grace Foster of Las Vegas, Irene Whicker of Orlando, Fla., Orpha Rader of McKee, Ky., and Jean Combs of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Harry C. Hall
Harry C. Hall, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1912, in Thomas, Okla. A resident for 67 years, he was a retired civil engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation, a World War II Navy veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for the last 10 years and one of the 31ers of Boulder City.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; one daughter, Marilyn Hall-Patton, and one son, Harry Edward Hall, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Una Mae Brown of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery.
Russell K. Jones
Russell K. Jones, 76, of West Lafayette, Ind., died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 17, 1922, in West Lafayette. He was a professor of veterinary medicine at Purdue University and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of West Layfayette; four sons, W. Douglas Jones of Greeley, Colo., Timothy E. Jones of Las Vegas, Christopher B. Jones of West Lafayette and Robert G. Jones of Sun Valley; and three grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Francisco Cruz Lujan
Francisco Cruz Lujan, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 26, 1944, in Guam. A resident for 12 years, he was a postal carrier and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; two sons, Raymond A. Lujan and Gregory S. Rosa, and two daughters, Rebecca A. Lujan and Balbina C. Lujan, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Perpetuo and Balbina Lujan, and two brothers, Vicente Lujan and George Lujan, all of Guam; two sisters, Rosita Lujan-Calvo of Las Vegas and Bernadita Lujan-Garcia of Guam; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. service in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Robert Martin
Robert Martin, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local convalescent hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Glasgow, Scotland. A resident for 10 years, he was an electrical engineer and a member of the Masons and Shriners in Las Vegas.
He is survived by one son, Robert C. Martin of San Francisco; one daughter, Linda M. Martin of Weare, N.H.; one sister, Betty Bruce of Cambuslang, Scotland; several nieces and nephews; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Joseph Lee McDowell
Joseph Lee McDowell, 39, of Las Vegas died Nov. 22 in a local hospital. A resident for 32 years, he was born May 15, 1959, in Shreveport, La.
He is survived by his father, Joe McDowell, and one brother, Jamal McDowell, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation was scheduled 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. services today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
D'Juan D. Owens
D'Juan D. Owens, 21, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1977, in Culver City, Calif. A resident for two months, he was a hospital data entry clerk.
He is survived by one daughter, De'Ja Unique Owens, and his mother, Lilly Ann Vickman, both of Los Angeles; two sisters, Lenise Owens of Northridge, Calif., and Tia C. Owens of Los Angeles; and his grandparents, John and Mary Fairley of Las Vegas.

Domenica Rose Paci
Domenica Rose Paci, 86, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for two years, she was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Salvatore C.; her children, Frank and Rosemary A. Turco of Henderson; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Sue M. Schwartz, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 25, 1912, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a bookkeeper at a retail store.
She is survived by her husband, Hyman.

Richard Maurice Smith
Richard Maurice Smith, 40, of Las Vegas died Friday in Needles, Calif. He was born July 5, 1958, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a landscaper.
He is survived by four sons, Tony Williams, Ricky Smith, Jarmine Smith and Devin Buford, his mother, Gloria Smith, four sisters, Betty Brown, Beverly Warren, Raniell Smith and Donna Smith, and one brother, Jerry Smith, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Deanie Blake Turl
Deanie Blake Turl, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Deming, N.M. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Don R.; two sons, Jeff Turl of Madera, Calif., and John Birt of Las Vegas; two daughters, Shirley Birt of Reno and Christie Graff of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
