Letter: Others know of speeding drivers
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 | 11:39 a.m.
Since then I have had a chance to talk to them. They, like me, say a small group of drivers come down the hill starting from Hollywood Boulevard hell-bent for election with no regard or respect for anyone including themselves.
These drivers, whom I call "leadfoots," ignore the signs that are posted more than one-half mile before they would have to stop. The speed limit is 45 mph, but these drivers go through this intersection at 50 mph and some as high as 55 mph.
These lead-footed drivers can't stop, even when the guards give them time, because they don't see or obey the warning signs. The guards have at least 2 1/2 years each doing their jobs and know what they are doing.
The two ladies told me that this intersection is the worst intersection they have ever worked.
