UNLV ranking incorrectly reported

UNLV recently incorrectly reported its standings in a U.S. News & World Report's 1999 college guide, "America's Best Colleges."
In the fall of 1997, UNLV was ranked 40th. The university moved up five spots to number 35 this year in the western regional lists. It was not ranked 7th as previously stated by the university public information office.
"The fact that this error was unintentional makes it no less regrettable," said university information officer Tom Flagg.
