CARSON CITY -- Las Vegas casino owner Steve Wynn confirmed Thursday he has sold his mansion on the shores of Lake Tahoe but declined to reveal the price or the new owner.
"I didn't lose any money on it," Wynn told reporters when asked about the price. The first asking price was $25 million. The property was valued on the county tax rolls at $12 million.
There were published reports the new owner paid $18 million to $19 million.
Wynn said he would serve out his term on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, that oversees development at the lake on the California-Nevada border. But he said he doesn't know if he will seek a third term in January. He missed the agency's last meeting.
Right now, he said, he's busy putting the finishing touches on the $1.6 billion Bellagio hotel-casino set to open Oct. 15 on the Las Vegas Strip.
