Letter: Facts about Democratic leaders of past need to be set straight
Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998 | 11:01 a.m.
The Ted Kennedys of the world have been pilfering Social Security for years. They were warned years ago Medicare was going broke. For 40 years they did nothing until the new Republican Congress and Senate were installed.
As for our weakened military and information agencies, look who's running the country, a draft-dodging woman chaser whose main goal is campaign fund-raising, even if it's foreign money. Nobody has trouble finding out about his love life, the whole world knows it. (Except maybe his wife?)
As for the Democrats straightening out the country, I remember FDR entertaining the Japanese ambassador while Japanese planes bombed Pearl Harbor. How about Kennedy and Johnson and Vietnam and the list goes on and on. I'll take the Eisenhowers, Reagans, etc. any time. Let's get our facts straight.
