Bill Bible announces retirement from Gaming Control Board
Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998 | 3:17 a.m.
Before joining the control board, Bible served as director of the Department of Administration and chief of the Legislature's Fiscal Analysis Division.
"Nevada has been very fortunate to have had the benefit of Bill Bible's leadership, knowledge and credibility on the Gaming Control Board for almost 10 years," Gov. Bob Miller said following Thursday's announcement.
Bible also serves on the National Gaming Impact Study Commission formed to examine legalized gambling across the United States. Thursday's resignation will not affect his presidential appointment to the national panel.
Miller asked Gaming Control Board member Steve DuCharme to assume the chairmanship when Bible steps down Set. 18. Bible's term expires Jan. 1, 2001.
Dennis K. Nielander, who serves as chief of the control board's corporate securities division, will assume the remainder of DuCharme's term, which expires Jan. 1.
