Cipriana L. Benito, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 26, 1918, in the Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired teacher in the Filipino school system.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Benito of Las Vegas; two brothers, Santiago Benito and Felix Benito, both of the Philippines.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
WILSON EDWARDO DIAZ-ALFONSO
Wilson Edwardo Diaz-Alfonso, 27, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 11, 1971, in Colombia. A resident for six months, he was a painter in the construction industry.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Del Carmen Alfonso Tovan of Las Vegas; one brother, Jose Alexander Diaz, and two sisters, Nora Patricia Diaz and Claudia Nallive Diaz, all of Colombia.
Visitation is scheduled 1-9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Colombia.
MAY 'MARGARET' CHUNG WU HONG
May "Margaret" Chung Wu Hong, 89, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 28, 1908, in Shanghai, China. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Wilder of Las Vegas and Sister Cecilia Hong of Vancouver, British Columbia; two sons, Lawrence Hong of Carmel, Ind., and Ignatius Hong of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Missionary Sisters of Immaculate Conception, Prince Edward Street, Vancouver, BC V5T3N3.
MYRTLE 'TONI' LAVAN
Myrtle "Toni" Lavan, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 21, 1925, in Oglesby, Ill. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired real estate broker.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Schwertfeger of Hammond, Ind., and Nancy Kilfoyle of Sandy Valley; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
PRADUB 'PON' MCHUGH
Pradub "Pon" McHugh, 57, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 19, 1941, in Thailand. A resident for 25 years, she was a member of Thai-Temple of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Nuey McHugh, and one daughter, Michelle McHugh, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 4 p.m. services Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
JOHN P. THOMAS
John P. Thomas, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 8, 1925, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired electrician, worked in the Anaconda copper mines, was a World War II Navy veteran and past grand knight for the Knights of Columbus in Butte, Mont.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters, Beverly Morton of Kingman, Ariz., Barbara Diedrick of Cary, Ill., and Kathy Washer of Palmer, Alaska; one son, Hugh Thomas of Eagle Point, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
