Director’s job in limbo

The board will meet on Wednesday to discuss the restructuring proposal by Councilman Glen Guttry. The panel met on Thursday and told Executive Director Mike Wimpress he was on administrative leave until it decided his future.
Guttry said frustration with the development agency is so high right now that the Council probably will withhold its funding unless there is a reorganization.
He says the executive director is getting $55,000-$60,000 a year that could be used entirely for marketing. That's a budget item that currently gets $5,000.
"That doesn't buy you anything," Guttry said.
