Arias closes in on Stars’ record

ALBUQUERQUE --- Thirty-one down, one to go.
Las Vegas third baseman George Arias hit a long three-run in the third inning of the Stars' 10-3 victory over the Albuquerque Dukes on Monday night and now needs just one more to tie the team single-season record of 32 set by Kevin McReynolds in 1983.
Arias now has 100 RBIs this season with 35 games still remaining.
It was a record-setting night for Las Vegas starter Matt Clement (10-6), but probably not one he'd be proud of.
Clement, who already had shattered the team's record for most hit batsmen in a season (11) and entered Monday night's contest tied for the career mark (23), tied a long-standing Pacific Coast League single-game record for hit batsmen by plucking four Dukes in just 6 1/3 innings to increase his 1998 total to 27.
Clement was around the plate enough to allow just one run and three hits during his stint to pick up the victory.
Center fielder Chris Prieto had three hits and scored three runs and second baseman Dave Hajek added two hits and three RBI as the Stars won for the 11th time in their last 15 games.
