Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997 | 9:13 a.m.
Culinary secretary-treasurer Jim Arnold said the demonstration plans were dropped because of safety concerns due to rains swamping the Las Vegas Valley.
The demonstrations were rescheduled for 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.
The demonstrations - in front of the Flamingo Hilton and Caesars Palace - were planned to protest lagging contract talks at 39 Las Vegas resorts.
