Prostitute dumps fetus in trash bin

Around noon, the woman entered the store and told the clerk she had just had a miscarriage. She tried to hand the bag to the clerk, but the clerk refused and called police, Metro Police said.

The woman then grabbed the bag and dumped it in a trash bin outside.

Metro homicide Sgt. Bill Keeton said the fetus was very premature and only about six inches long.

"She was displaying this around before she threw it in the Dumpster," Keeton said.

He said the woman, whose name wasn't released, is a known prostitute and drug user.

If the miscarriage was drug-related, the woman could face charges, Keeton said.
