A Las Vegas man was shot to death early today after he and his assailant argued.
Billy Ray Watts, 26, was found lying on the landing outside an apartment just after midnight at 1040 Sierra Vista Drive near Cambridge Street and Desert Inn Road after Metro Police were called to the complex, homicide Sgt. Ken Hefner said.
"He was at the apartment and became engaged in an argument with somebody," Hefner said. "It's not clear what the argument was about."
The assailant fled. Police are searching to question a man known only as Tony, who also has a moniker of "Nutty," Hefner said. He was described as a black man, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Metro at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
