Simpsons creator Matt Groening visits replica home in Henderson
Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997 | 3:10 a.m.
The Man came.
Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, came out to bestow his blessing on the Simpsons' House in Henderson.
The creator of television's acerbic first family strolled nonchalant around the house that he indirectly built, cracked wise about the decor ("This is your house on drugs!") and tagged an outer wall with a can of spray paint.
Groening along with Gov. Bob Miller, Wayne Newton and Henderson Mayor Jim Gibbons toured the home, which will be given away Sunday during the premiere of the Simpsons ninth season.
To win the home, you must be holding the game piece that matches the one displayed during the premiere. Game Pieces are available on specially marked packages on Lemon Lime Slice, Mandarin Orange Slice, Mug Root Beer, Lipton Brisk Natural Lemon Flavored Ice Tea and Josta.
The giveaway is a joint FOX, Pesi-cola and Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation promotion.
