School District construction spending

How the Clark County School Board voted Thursday to pay for change orders to school construction and rehabilitation:
* $31,344.97: to Clark & Sullivan Constructors, Inc. for work done at Roberts Elementary. Two items were included in this change order, one which was recommended by Parsons-Fleming-Taylor and the other which was the result of a design deficiency. This is the eighth change order for work at Roberts, bringing total change orders to $454,977.55 plus 42 days to the original contract. That represents an 8.48 percent increase to the original contract amount of $5,367,066.
* $34,506.08: plus two days to Clark & Sullivan Constructors, Inc. for work done at Vanderburg Elementary. Two items were included in the change order, one requested by the school district and the other was a credit to the contractor. This is the fifth change order for work at Vanderburg and represents a 6.63 percent net increase to the original contract amount of $5,907,066.
* $247,542: to Precision Construction, Inc. for work done at Bonner Elementary. Eleven items were included in this change order, including two requested by KLVX Communications Group, four which were design deficiencies, two were requested by the planning and engineering department, one was a discovery made after the bid, one was a requirement levied post-bid by the state fire marshal and one was a requirement levied post-bid by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.
* $18,259: to Spray Systems Environmental for asbestos abatement done at Rancho High School. This is the first change order and covers four items, all requested by the environmental services section. This represents a 10.5 percent net increase to the original contract amount of $174,520.
