Enter the Night’ remains a delight

Friday, Sept. 12, 1997 | 9:53 a.m.

"Enter The Night" is well on its way to becoming one of the hardiest perennials among the unique Las Vegas production shows. Thursday's 7:30 p.m. show at the Stardust was close to capacity with an appreciative and responsive audience throughout. We've seen it every year since its premiere here in July 1991. There have been changes for the better but no diminution in its high-energy, high-tech performance level.

Tony Davidge is a Fabio hair-alike and a true singer. Adam Fleck is new to me, very impressive especially in the "Let Yourself Go" tap number that leads into the finale. Jennifer Page handles the uptempo singing chores nicely. Would that our limited space would allow mentions of the entire attractive and capable cast.

Las Huincas Gauchos have the star slot, a standard act, a triumph of personality, enhanced by new production values. World-champion pro ice skaters Cindy Landry and Burt Lancon are show-stoppers at the 30-minute mark. The dancing Scott Brothers are on vacation this week -- Robert is newly-married. They were missed because it was 30 minutes of music and dance before Landry and Lancon's turn.

"Illumagenesis" is an outstanding laser and light show made even better by the dancing of Jennifer Bochenczak and five males. Aki, "The Showgirl for the 21st Century," makes the "Some Like It Hot" number sizzle. We'd be remiss not to add a "Bravo" for Stephen Yeurick's new costumes along with low bows for producer Ted Lorenz and everyone onstage and backstage.

I may not wait until next year for the follow-up visit. See it.
