Collection set for unused pesticides

The Nevada Division of Agriculture is collecting unwanted and unused pesticides, including bug or weed killer, rodent bait and fungicide. Banned products such as DDT and chlordane are also being collected, all at no charge. Home and business owners may bring them to the Las Vegas office of the division, 2300 McLeod Drive. Drop-off hours -- for small quantities only -- are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday before Sept. 29. Commercial users and people with large quantities must call to register each product before drop off on Sept. 29. For more information call the Division of Agriculture at 486-4690.
