Letter: Newcomers causing problems in our older neighborhoods

Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997 | 11:30 a.m.

Once a certain home was raided, and the findings televised on the news. At 2 a.m. Aug. 5, the fire department was called into the wash down the street because of a toxic spill.

Metro was called on several occasions. I have spoken face to face with the persons responsible for the noise of grinding engines, toxic fumes, etc. All to no avail.

This is a 24-hour town, and people work different shifts. I do not object to the garbage being picked up at 5 in the morning. But I do object to people running a day-and-night car repair service in a residential area.
