John Walsh, host of the television series "America's Most Wanted," will be in town Saturday to dedicate a security podium in The Boulevard Mall and help launch the Code Adam program named on behalf of his late son.
The dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. at the entrance to the Panorama Cafes Food Court will precede demonstrations by the mall's newly established mounted horse patrol.
Walsh will also team up with Metro Police Undersheriff Richard Wingett for the taping of a Halloween safety episode for the TV show.
The festivities culminate a month-long effort by the Boulevard Mall, community groups and law enforcement to increase the public's awareness of programs available to them as part of National Crime Prevention Month.
Walsh is an integral part of Code Adam, named after his young son Adam who was kidnapped from a Florida shopping mall and murdered. The program was developed by WalMart and provides guidelines on what to do when a child is reported lost or missing.
