City of North Las Vegas expands to five days
Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 | 10:05 a.m.
Starting Monday, the city of North Las Vegas will be open five days a week.
The city has operated on a four-day week (closed Mondays) since 1976 -- a move prompted by budget pressures and the energy crisis -- but recent research indicated a demand for extra service to the public.
"We are providing more days of operation to adapt to the growth of our city," said Deputy City Manager Patrick Importuna. "Our top priority is to provide quality and convenient services for the customer."
City offices are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Henderson and Boulder City also have a four-day week, but they are closed on Fridays. There are no plans to expand hours in those cities.
