Las Vegas police Sgt. Kevin Manning said Robert Wayne Jones, formerly of Las Vegas, was booked in the Cibola County, N.M., jail Friday evening.
The woman police claim also participated in the killing, Amy DeChant, remains at large.
Weinstein disappeared on July 5, 1996. His body was later discovered in a shallow grave in northern Clark County.
After Weinstein's disappearance, his girlfriend, DeChant, told police he left their home to meet with an unidentified person. Later, after police questioning, she told detectives Weinstein was abducted from their residence. Traces of Weinstein's blood were subsequently found inside his home, and police have said they believe Jones helped dispose of the body.
