Letter: Statements on poor patient care at Sunrise are false

Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997 | 7:04 a.m.

I'd like the public to know that our hospital, doctors, charge nurses, supervisors, unit managers and co-workers stand behind us, giving us equipment and anything else needed to provide the excellent patient care that we give.

There have been some tough times, as there are with any hospital that's growing to continually meet the needs of a growing community, but improvements are continually being made to ensure we have the room, staff, equipment and supplies to care for our patients.

We have opened 19 new beds and added sufficient staff to care for the increase in patients we are seeing.

I am offended that the SEIU would make statements referring to our poor patient care, that we don't have enough nurses to care for our patients and that patients are put in the halls without staff to care for them. I know, for a fact, these are untrue statements.
