Jury unsure if man was trying to kill officer

Alan Muentes, 19, was convicted of resisting a public officer, illegal discharge of a firearm into a vehicle and battery with the use of a deadly weapon. But a new trial date may have to be set for the attempted murder count he had been facing.
Police came across Muentes at the Blue Diamond truck stop in November 1996 after a man reported someone in a moving pickup truck had shot out the windows of his parked car.
Muentes will face a maximum possible penalty of 20 years when he is sentenced by District Judge Joseph Pavlikowski. Brothers Convicted
