Woman tentatively identified in plane crash
Monday, Nov. 17, 1997 | 7:27 a.m.
The wreckage was discovered Nov. 5, but while a pathologist could identify the charred remains of the three men on board, evidence of the fourth victim were not confirmed until Monday.
A forensic dentist tentatively identified the three as pilot Ron Lukas of Douglas County along with his stepbrother, Steve Schantz, and Schantz' roommate, Eric Schleier, both of Carson City.
Ron Lukas and Schantz now have been positively identified while the IDs of Schleier and Lisa Lukas remain tentative, the Alpine County sheriff's office said on Monday.
The four died Oct. 26 shortly after they took off from Minden, Nev., for Clements, Calif. The wreckage was found smashed against a rocky hillside, its occupants burned beyond recognition.
