Slovakians down Lady Rebels in exhibition

The UNLV Lady Rebels were defeated by SAM Myjava, a traveling team from Slovakia, 68-44, Wednesday night in an exhibition basketball game at the Lied Gymnasium.
SAM Myjava, which outshot UNLV .407 percent to .273 for the game, was led by Silvia Janostinova's game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Rebels were led by junior forward Angalete Dye, who recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior forward Eishia Brightwell also pulled down 10 rebounds for UNLV.
The Slovakians used a 22-8 run over the final 11 minutes of the first half to take a 32-21 advantage into the locker room. Myjava then outscored UNLV by 13 points in the second half to win the contest.
The Lady Rebels will be back in action on Nov. 21 as they open the season at Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m.
