Billiards tournament at the Las Vegas Cue Club

The country's most accomplished billiards players will compete in the fourth annual U.S. Amateur Championship Saturday and Sunday at the Las Vegas Cue Club, 953 E. Sahara Ave. Hosted by the American Poolplayers Association, the event has 128 players who shot their way through preliminary rounds. Featuring a combination of 8-ball and 9-ball, each match will be a race-to-7, with the final match played single elimination, race-to-11. The tournament starts at noon on Saturday.
