Two teens win t-shirt design contest

Members of the Mayor's Youth Forum, a subcommittee of the City of Henderson's Blue Ribbon Commission on Education Excellence and Youth Opportunity, submitted logo designs, which were judged by the 34 students serving on the subcommittee.
The mayor and City Council presented the winners with a city watch and a $50 savings bond in recognition of their contributions to the subcommittee and their creative design.
The Mayor's Youth Forum Subcommittee is comprised of students representing Basic, Green Valley and Silverado high schools, VoTech, Brown Junior High, Burkholder Middle School, Greenspun Junior High and White Middle School. The subcommittee meets monthly throughout the year planning and hosting youth forums throughout the city of Henderson on various issues.
The next Mayor's Youth Forum, "Multicultural Awareness," is scheduled for Thursday at VoTech. For more information, call Monica Simmons, 565-2082.
