Estranged husband of LaToya Jackson in jail

Jack Gordon, 58, has been in jail since May 6 and is scheduled to be released on May 30. He is being held in lieu of $65,000 cash bail.

The 39-year-old Jackson filed for divorce in May of 1996 in Las Vegas, charging that Gordon beat her during their stormy seven-year marriage.

Gordon denied the allegations, saying he was the one who was abused.

Jackson filed a federal lawsuit against Gordon last June, claiming he repeatedly beat her.

Both Gordon and Jackson, sister of pop icon Michael Jackson, have homes in Las Vegas.

Gordon's son, Aaron Gordon, said the contempt-of-court charges stem from a judge's request for records in the couple's divorce case.
