‘Nunsense’ (or ‘Nuns with no funds’)
Friday, May 16, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
Actors Repertory Theater's next production, the musical comedy "Nunsense" by Dan Goggin, will be performed starting next week at the Summerlin Library Theater.
There will be a preview on May 23, with the opening May 24. The play will cover two weekends: 8 p.m. May 23-24, 2 p.m. May 25, 8 p.m. May 29-31 and 2 p.m. June 1.
The award-winning musical ran for almost 10 sold-out years in New York. The members of the Order of the Little Sisters of Hoboken are in dire straits. It seems that their convent cook, Sister Julia-Child of God, accidentally served most of the holy community some contaminated bouillon.
Five sisters must now attempt to raise money in order to bury the last four of 52 dearly departed nuns. How else, but by putting on a talent show! The five sisters perform with quick-paced, comic flair and high-spirited singing.
Tickets for "Nunsense" will be $17.50, $15 for seniors and students. Tickets for the preview performance will be $15 and $12.50 respectively.
