Bass tourney at Lake Mead

The WON BASS Southern Pro Circuit season comes to an end this weekend at Lake Mead, where John Murray of Phoenix and Aaron Martens of West Hills, Calif., will battle for the Angler of the Year title.

Murray and Martens are former two-time title holders. Murray, the 1990 and '92 Angler of the Year, is the current points leader with 337 points. Martens, the title holder in '94 and '96, enters with 322 points.

The tournament will be staged out of Callville Bay Resort and will also serve as a tuneup for the U.S. Open, to be held Sept. 15-17 at the lake.
