* RAY WINS AT LVMS: Defending track champion Mike Ray held off a furious charge from Dick Cobb to capture a photo finish late model division victory in NASCAR Winston Racing Series action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday. Ray powered from his outside front row position to score his first victory of the season in a 17-car main event. Kurt Busch was third in a tight battle while newcomer Sonny Whal was fourth and Dick Attisani fifth. Busch also captured the legends pro division while Glenn Burke beat Scott Gafforini for the limited late model victory. Brian Robson charged to the legends semi-pro main event and Don Williams rocketed to the Grand American modified victory.
