Diagnostic center
Cardiology Associates of Lake Mead have broken ground on a 12,900-square-foot cardiac outpatient diagnostic service center in Legacy Business Park at the corner of Green Valley and Wigwam parkways in Green Valley.
The project is being developed by Dr. Alan Steljes, a board-certified cardiologist who has practiced in Southern Nevada since 1989. The new center will replace his current office at 105 N. Pecos Road, which will close when the facility is completed in November. Steljes' office at St. Rose Dominical Hospital will remain open as a satellite office. Steljes and three additional cardiologists will staff the new center.
Cardiology Associates of Lake Mead offers full diagnostic cardiology services, including treadmill, electrocardiogram, Holter monitoring, stress testing, echo cardiography and stress echo cardiography.
New Juliet structure
Juliet Property Co. is under a new management structure and will stand alone under its own corporation. The firm is now owned and operated under the control of Fred Ahlstrom, Jay Bingham, Madison Graves and Kevin McCarthy, who will serve as president.
Formerly known as Falcon Asset Management Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Falcon Development Corporation doing business as Juliet Corp., the company will continue to develop, build and manage apartment complexes in the valley.
Since opening in 1991, Juliet Property has grown into a company of 30 employees and has diversified to offer a range of services, including developing, building and managing apartment complexes as well as general contracting.
Borders store opens
Borders will celebrate the grand opening of its third store this weekend at 2188 N. Rainbow Blvd. in the Best of the West shopping center.
Events scheduled include a CD signing by singer Loretta Holloway at noon Friday. At 8 p.m. Friday, Dottie and the Capricorns will entertain.
On Saturday, The Anointed Voices of Praises, a choir from Second Baptist Church, will offer songs of praise at 9 a.m. A health fair will be conducted 10 a.m.-4 p.m. by Columbia Sunrise Mountain View Hospital staff. Nevada Donor Networks will have representatives answering questions about organ donation and United Blood Services will have a mobile blood unit present.
New SuperPawn
SuperPawn, a national pawn brokerage based in Nevada, has opened its first Henderson store, National Jewelry Liquidation Center, at 1100 W. Sunset Road near the Galleria at Sunset.
The Henderson store is the largest store in the SuperPawn chain of 23 stores. It offers new and resale merchandise including jewelry assembled from all over the country.
Partial proceeds from sales in May will be donated to the Henderson Boys & Girls Clubs to assist with the new teen center.
Publishing partnership
Gaming Venture Corp. U.S.A. will enter into a joint venture partnership with Casino Journal Publishing Group to investigate, develop, operate and participate in gaming-related ventures worldwide.
Initially, the joint venture will co-produce the Gaming Stock Investment Center on the Internet and a new monthly magazine called Gaming Investor.
Gaming Investor magazine is expected to debut in August. It will assist investors in making informed decisions in the purchase of gaming stocks and bonds.
Casino Journal Publishing Group is the largest publisher of gaming-related magazines and marketing services. The company publishes trade magazines, Casino Journal and Nevada Hospitality, and the National Gaming Summary newsletter, in addition to Casino Player and the Atlantic City Insider for the gaming consumer.
