Letter: Average resident gains nothing from growth taxes

Thursday, May 8, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.

The logical thing to do was to pass the cost of growth on to those who profit from it, the gaming and housing developers, for those industries can pass the cost on to the consumers whereas we who have small or fixed incomes can do nothing but suffer, for we gain absolutely nothing from growth.

The Revolutionary War never really ended; we are still fighting taxation without representation!
