Letter: Nude backside photo at Riviera an affront to tourists, Las Vegans

Monday, May 5, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.

It amazes me that, as our hotel industry is spending millions of dollars for theme parks and recreation to attract families on vacation, we're displaying obscenity, that should be reserved for adult clubs and lounges, on the street for all eyes to see. What's more, there are families who live here who may not have become so insensitive to nudity for their children.

Out of tens of thousands of residents, only seven bothered to complain personally to the hotel about the billboards and taxicab displays.

After banning the X-rated handbills from being passed out on the Strip, will we now stand for this?

I'm complaining! Is there anyone else who loves this city and would like to see a little bit of decency preserved?
