REAL ESTATE SERIES -- Project management will be the next topic covered in the Graduate Builders Institute series, sponsored by the UNLV Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies in conjunction with the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.
The class will be conducted from 6-9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Room C-315 of UNLV's Classroom Building Complex by Brenda Cunningham and Bill June from Kaufman and Broad and William Hamilton from OSHA.

CONTRACTORS LUNCHEON -- John Jennings, national member president of Associated Builders and Contractors, will deliver a labor-oriented address at Wednesday's luncheon meeting of ABC-Southern Nevada.
The Florida-based general contractor is head of the world's largest association solely dedicated to promoting the philosophy of free enterprise. His remarks will focus on organized labor's campaign to unionize Las Vegas businesses and ABC's efforts in opposition.
The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Palace Station. The cost is $20 for ABC members and $25 for nonmembers with reservations by Tuesday noon; call 227-0536.
PRODUCTIVITY SEMINAR -- The Las Vegas Chapter of Associated General Contractors is accepting registrations for "Productivity Improvement," unit 10 in the Supervisory Training Program series.
The class will run from 5-7 p.m. Thursdays, May 8 through July 10, at the AGC office, 4044 S. Industrial Road.
Project managers, superintendents, estimators, foremen and anyone who needs to learn to improve his productivity are encouraged to register for the class. The cost is $225 for AGC members and $325 for nonmembers; call 796-9986.
CONDUCTING MEETINGS -- International Training in Communication is sponsoring its 28th annual Parliamentary Seminar on Saturday in Rooms C-216 and C-218 of UNLV's Classroom Building Complex.
The seminar is designed for those interested in the proper procedures for conducting and/or participating in meetings. It will cover the practical application of Robert's Rules of Order, visual aids, demonstrations, audience participation and skill-development exercises.
The seminar begins with registration at 8 a.m., followed by instruction from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can choose the basic or advanced class. Prepaid registration is $35, call 877-0922 or 873-2186. The cost at the door is $45.
CONFERENCE FOR MEN -- "Building a Game Plan for the 21st Century" is the theme of Nevada's third annual conference for men, being conducted 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday by Community College of Southern Nevada.
Designed to give men insights into preparing for changing careers and the changing workplace, the conference is free and includes breakfast and lunch.
Hosted by KLAS Channel 8 news anchor Gary Waddell, the program features workshops by noted consultants, communicators and career-guidance experts. The luncheon keynote speaker will be Tony Gladney, community affairs director for the MGM Grand.
Workshop speakers include humorist Frank Butterfield, named America's best fitness educator in 1994; Mujahid Ramadan, executive director of Nevada Partners; and CCSN professor Steve Konowalow, a motivational speaker and author.
The conference will be at CCSN's Charleston campus, 6375 W. Charleston Blvd. at Torrey Pines.
MUTUAL FUNDS SEMINAR -- Merrill Lynch will conduct a free seminar, "How to Buy Mutual Funds," at 6 p.m. May 14 at Carver's Restaurant, 2061 Sunset Road, Green Valley.
Frank Goldstein, vice president in Merrill Lynch Asset Management, and Steve Hazel, financial consultant, Merrill Lynch Private Client Group, will discuss how to buy mutual funds and the role they play in your financial plan.
