Immunization week planned for infants
Monday, March 31, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
In celebration of National Infant Immunization Week, April 19-26, the Clark County Health District, in conjunction with Sierra Health Services and Smith's Food and Drug Centers, will be holding a week of "We'll Come to You" shot clinics.
The clinics will be offered throughout the valley, providing necessary immunizations to infants and children.
Although 98 percent of Clark County's children are completely immunized by the time they begin school, immunization levels in preschool children are way behind. In Clark County, about 60 percent of children are fully immunized by their second birthday. The Clark County Health District has set a goal of having 90 percent of all 2-year-olds immunized by 2000.
The upcoming clinics will be free of charge and held at the following locations.
* April 19, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Boulevard Mall.
* April 21, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Smith's, 4600 E. Sunset Road.
* April 22, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Smith's, 4440 N. Rancho Drive.
* April 23, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Meadows Mall.

* April 24, 4:30-7 p.m., North Las Vegas Public Health Center, 3262 Civic Center Drive/Drive-thru.
* April 25, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Smith's, 450 N. Nellis Blvd.
* April 27, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Galleria Mall.
Those attending any of the listed clinics should bring their child's most recent immunization records. Additional information on the above (and current) shot clinics can be obtained by calling the Clark County Health District, Monday-Friday, 383-1351.
