"The Festival" is a two-hour show featuring a cast of more than 100 young people from 25 countries.
It is the story of a two-day festival, about a young couple looking for a future and historical adversaries looking for revenge. The show offers music and dancing.
The audience will "Twist & Shout" back to the '50s and '60s to croon with Elvis and relive flashbacks of old-time TV favorites such as "Dragnet," "The Flintstones" and "Bonanza."
There is familiar music, such as Marvin Hamlisch's "Ordinary Miracle," to original numbers powered by world-beat rhythms. "The Festival" was written by more than 20 composers and contributing writers from around the world.
For more than 30 years, Up With People, a nonprofit group, has performed in 3,200 cities across 70 countries.
Advance tickets are $15, $12 for students, seniors and disabled at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 229-6383; Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 229-6211; and through TicketMaster, 474-4000. Tickets at the gate will be $18 and $15.
