Moscow Balilaikas to give performance at UNLV
Friday, March 21, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
Usually available only to members, individual tickets will be available for this performance, as well as lower group rates. Call UNLV box office at 895-3801 for information.
The Moscow Balilaikas return to the United States after two seasons of coast-to-coast sold-out performances and standing ovations. The new program includes Soviet classics as well as a few surprises.
The six award-winning virtuosi instrumentalists and two vocalists fill an auditorium with as much volume as a full orchestra. Each member of the group is highly regarded in Russia and contributes his creativity toward a performance.
Although primarily playing from a Russian musical heritage, their methods and themes also embrace a large variety of styles from all over the world.
This community concert concludes the 16th season of bringing professional artists to the community. Tickets will be on sale for next season at this performance, with present season ticket-holders receiving a discount.
