Children’s museum’s ‘Animal Diner’ serves helpings of discovery

Animals eat too. And what they eat is a fine kettle of fish!
Local youngsters will learn all about what critters eat at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum "Animal Diner" during National Science and Technology Month, March 22-April 26.
"Animal Diner" is part of the "Animals Eat: Different Feasts for Different Beasts" exhibit, an important part of the science-related activities during the celebration. The showing was made possible by a Wells Fargo Bank donation of $16,400.
At a preview event for 60 Lummis Elementary students, Wells Fargo Bank executives garbed in chef whites served up an interesting assortment of "side dishes." The children's museum is one of only two in the country selected as an official site for National Science and Technology Week activities by the National Science Foundation.
The mock, interactive diner features life-size replicas of different beasties -- a leopard, black bear, beaver, boa constrictor and racoon eating different feasts.
