Special interest
* CARNIVAL OF CULTURE: Each grade at Elaine Wynn Elementary School will have one or more booths depicting different cultures at Friday's 4-8 p.m. carnival which includes food, fun, games, entertainment and a raffle. Carnival is free. The school is at 5655 Edna Ave.
* USS COLUMBIA: Star Trek fan club meets at 7 p.m. Friday at the Vineyard restaurant at the Boulevard. Call 454-6651.
* WALKAMERICA '97: Teams for the April 26 Walk are asked to call the March of Dimes, 732-WALK, to sign up.
