The state is accepting applications through March 31 for assistance with heating and cooling costs.
Eligibility is based on the total gross income and countable resources of the household. A one-person household's monthly income cannot exceed $967.50, while the monthly income for a family of four cannot be more than $1,950.
The value of the household's countable assets cannot exceed $4,000 for an individual living alone or $6,000 for a household with more than one person.
Last year, the state Low Income Home Energy Assistance program helped 8,752 families. The amount of assistance is determined by income level, type and size of dwelling, housing costs, heat source and vulnerability to weather conditions.
To receive an application, call 486-3000 Ext. 4420.
Completed applications must be mailed to the LIHEA Program Office, 559 S. Saliman, No. 101, Carson City, NV 89701.
