HARTER SPEAKS -- Carol Harter, president of UNLV, will discuss past achievements, current events and future plans of the university at Women In Communications' July 10 luncheon at Palace Station. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for networking and the luncheon program will begin at noon.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH CLASSES -- A series of professional growth classes will be offered by Community College of Southern Nevada from Aug. 5 through Sept. 9.

The series is comprised of: "Professional Winning and Growth Skills," "Career Management and Decision Making," "Hot Buttons of the '90s," and "Conquering Stress." Tim Schneider, president of Soaring Eagle Enterprises, will facilitate the course work.

Each class can be taken individually or participants can earn a Certificate of Accomplishment for successfully completing all four classes. The classes meet 6-9 p.m. on Thursdays at the Sahara West Center of CCSN, 2409 Las Verdes. Students will receive continuing education credits. Individual classes are $45 to $79 and the series of four classes is $239. To enroll, call 651-5790.

BUSINESS COURSES -- CCSN's Business Management and Administration Certification Series of Classes will begin Aug. 7.

"Providing Superior Customer Service," "Mastering Time and Organization," "Winning With Communication," "Team Centered Performance," "Model Leadership and Management," "Unlocking the Mystery of Finance" and "Never Lose Another Sale" are the individual classes the make up the certification series. Tim Schneider, president of Soaring Eagle Enterprises, will facilitate.

Students will receive continuing education credits for successful completion of the individual classes and a Certificate of Accomplishment for completing all of the classes in the series. Individual class fees range from $45 to $69 and the series of seven classes in 13 weeks is $279. The classes will meet 6-9 p.m. Thursdays at the Sahara West Center, 2409 Las Verdes.
