The 23-member board advises officers on questions concerning conference programs and policies.
"I am honored to be elected to a leadership position in an extremely influential national group," Griffin said. "This provides an opportunity and recognition for the city of Reno."
The conference wrapped up its 65th annual meeting last week in San Francisco. Next year's annual meeting will be held in Reno.
