The Nevada Highway Patrol said Michael John McGarry, 39, of Panther Valley, died at Washoe Medical Center on Friday, nearly three weeks after the June 7 accident in Lemmon Valley.
Troopers said McGarry was walking on a dimly lit section of the highway late at night when he was hit by a pickup. He landed in the westbound travel lanes and then was hit by a car.
Troopers said McGarry had been drinking and allegedly was under the influence. He suffered head injuries, a punctured lung and cracked ribs.
