Brush fire chars 75 acres near Pyramid Lake
Saturday, June 28, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
Lisa Mayberry of the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center in Minden said two air tankers and a helicopter helped contain the blaze.
Another brush fire was contained Saturday afternoon after burning less than an acre along the Mount Rose Highway south of Reno, she said.
"Fortunately, neither fire posed a threat to any homes," Mayberry said. "But it's a reminder that the fire season is upon us."
The cause of the blazes is under investigation.
