July 27 - American Bowl in Dublin, Ireland, Chicago vs. Pittsburgh.
July 31-Aug. 4 - First full preseason weekend.
Aug. 4 - American Bowl in Mexico City, Denver vs. Miami.
Aug. 16 - American Bowl in Toronto, Buffalo vs. Green Bay.
Aug. 19 - Rosters cut down to maximum 60 players.
Aug. 24 - Rosters cut down to maximum 53 players.
Aug. 25 - Clubs may establish practice squad of five players.
Aug. 31-Sept. 1 - Regular season opens.
Oct. 7 - Trading deadline.
Oct. 14-15 - League meeting, Washington.
Nov. 4 - Deadline to sign drafted players, franchise players, transition players, and restricted and unrestricted free agents to whom June 1 tender was made. Players not signed are prohibited from playing in 1997 season.
Dec. 22 - Regular season ends.
Dec. 27-28 - Wild Card playoff games. 1998
Jan. 3-4 - Divisional playoffs games.
Jan. 11 - Conference championships.
Jan. 25 - Super Bowl, San Diego.
Feb. 1 - Pro Bowl, Honolulu.
Feb. 5-9 - Scouting Combine, Indianapolis.
March 22-27 - NFL Annual Meeting, Orlando, Fla.
April 18-19 - NFL Draft, New York
May 18-21 - NFL Spring Meeting, St. Louis, Mo.
