Navy holds open house discussion on proposed changes

Opponents argue the proposal would only shift the noise factor from Churchill County residents to the Walker River Paiute Reservation on the range's southern border.
They also charge that by abandoning its plan to expand the range, the Navy has cut out state and local government from decisions on how the bombing range will be operated.
Fallon Naval Air Station spokeswoman Anne McMillin said the Navy is not required to hold public meetings on the bombing range but is doing so to judge public reaction.
