Douglas County officials refuse to fund Tahoe shuttle

Washoe County last month pledged $25,000 toward the system. But Douglas County Commissioners and Carson City supervisors are not willing to chip in.
The shuttle system was proposed as a way to alleviate the hundreds of cars that park along Nevada 28 in the summer.
Douglas County Commissioner Kelly Kite said he could not justify spending county money for a project that would mostly benefit north shore interests in Washoe County.
Carson City supervisors shared that sentiment.
At least $33,000 is needed to operate the shuttle this summer.
