Caesars offers $25,000 reward in robbery

Caesars Palace is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who last month robbed the hotel-casino of a large sum of money.
The robber, wearing a gas mask and gloves, held up two security guards May 18 and stole their money cart, police said. He went up to the third floor, took the money off the cart, abandoned the cart and left through a little-known exit, which was described by police as a private door near the front of the resort.
The elaborate plan has led police to believe the gunman was an employee with inside information about Caesars Palace. The casino's reward was made Thursday.
The robber was described as 6 feet 2 and 220 pounds, and wearing a waist-length black jacket, blue jeans, a white floppy golf hat and canvas sports shoes.
Police have asked anyone with information about the theft to call robbery detectives at 229-3591 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
